About Happy Dots

A child’s earliest years are filled with many milestones and developments that all contribute towards their cognitive, social, and physical growth. From the moment a child is born, the first few years of their life are crucial for brain development, especially if the child needs support to develop optimally. In this case, Happy Dots Occupational Therapy for Children can help you. 

Happy Dots is a paediatric clinic that offers Occupational and Speech Therapy for children. We help children (aged 2-18 years) reach their goals by following a guided therapy plan and sessions for them. Some of the issues we can help with are sensory processing issues, handwriting challenges, emotional regulation & school readiness. We offer Initial Assessments to plan your child’s therapy and discuss their strengths, weaknesses & their goals.

After the assessment, an Individual Therapy plan may be recommended for your child. These sessions are designed to work directly with your child to promote skill level and confidence. Happy Dots Occupational Therapy also offers Meet and Greet Sessions, Review Assessments, Group Therapy Programs, School Screenings, School Visits, and a wonderful range of products available via our clinics.

What We Offer

Initial Assessments

An initial assessment is booked for 90 minutes where a series of specifically chosen standardised and non-standardised tests are carried out on your child.

Meet & Greet Session

Our meet & greet sessions are designed for those families who may not be sure on whether or not OT will be best suited to them.

Review Assessment

We feel that it is important to conduct review assessments for children who have participated in therapy on an ongoing basis.

Clinic Based

Our clinic-based sessions offer a comfortable and nurturing environment where children can engage in various therapeutic activities under the guidance of our experienced occupational therapists. With a child-centred approach, we focus on creating a safe space that encourages exploration, growth, and progress. Our therapists utilise evidence-based techniques and specialised equipment to address sensory processing difficulties, improve fine motor skills, enhance emotional regulation, and promote overall development.

School Visits

Our lives keep getting busier and busier by the day, which gives parents less time to spend with their children especially to help with occupational therapy. Having your child attend school-based therapy services can significantly help both the parents and child.
School-based occupational therapy has many advantages. It is beneficial to the child, allowing a direct relationship between the therapist and teacher. This way, they can collaborate to help with the child’s therapy needs by discussing any learning or developmental difficulties the child might have.

Home Visits

Recognising the importance of supporting children within their educational settings, we provide school visits to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents. Our occupational therapists work closely with the school community to assess and address any challenges related to sensory processing, handwriting, and school readiness. By offering practical strategies and tailored interventions, we aim to empower children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Home visits are subject to availability & location.

Telehealth

We understand that the comfort and familiarity of a child’s home environment can greatly contribute to their progress and engagement in therapy. Our home-based therapy sessions bring our expertise directly to your doorstep. Our skilled therapists work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to create a personalised therapy plan that targets specific goals. By incorporating everyday activities and routines, we strive to foster a child’s independence, improve their motor skills, and support their overall development within the context of their home life.
